On their debut, CITY LIGHT THIEF present a clever mixture of Indie, Punk, Pop, and Post-Core. Rarely are you going to hear just one voice on this one - "Laviin" (which, fittingly, is Estonian for "avalanche") has lots and lots of choirs that keep dueling, branching, coalescing… The ten compositions on "Laviin" make you forget that you are actually listening to a very young band (and one from Germany, of all places!). "Laviin" is wild, "Laviin" is loud, "Laviin" is quiet, "Laviin" is emotional, and above all, it is one-of-a-kind. At some points you might be reminded of old TAKING BACK SUNDAY. Other, more playful and/or chaotic parts may evoke comparisons to FALL OF TROY or even AT THE DRIVE-IN, while the pop-appeal could be blamed on MINUS THE BEAR...
